Matthew Parsons, MS, MSPAS, PA-C

Matthew Parsons, MS, MSPAS, PA-C, was raised in Ripley, WV. Matt received a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Charleston in 1999. He then went on to California University of Pennsylvania as a graduate assistant athletic trainer and received a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training in 2000 with a research thesis titled “The use of Ergogenic Aids in College Athletics”. After completion of his master degree, Matt went on to work as an athletic trainer and professor at Kentucky Wesleyan College and then later at the University of Charleston. He then went to Marietta College in Ohio to obtain a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies where he graduated with honors in 2005 with his research thesis titled “The Utilization of Midlevel Providers in Rural West Virginia”. Following the completion of his education, Matt then returned to Charleston to practice as a physician assistant. He has been in practice as a physician assistant 18 years with 14 of those years in orthopedics. Matt has served as an associate professor of clinical education for Marietta College Physician Assistant program and is a member of the American Association of Physician Assistants and West Virginia Association of Physician Assistants.
